From 1st September 2015, Transport for London are introducing a scheme to protect cyclists and reduce road fatalities.

The key elements of the Safer Lorry Scheme are that all vehicles over 3.5GVW have to be fitted with class V and Class VI mirrors and side rails when they’re operating on roads within the current low emission zone (except for motorways).

Although there are some specific exemptions, many vehicles that are currently exempt from these items under UK and European legislation will now need them.
